Berlin on Wheels started with a common idea of Oliver Perleberg and Lars Dörfel, both from Berlin. While Oliver brings a comprehensive Bicylce know-how with him, Lars contributes the necessary marketing knowledge.

The district Friedrichshain is the centre of the multicultural atmosphere with all its Hostels, Bars and Cafés. To make this part of Berlin more attractive and mobile for young people and tourists from all over the world, both had the idea to found a bike rental company.

Oliver turns his private passion for cycling into a career and became a retailer for Mountainbikes. He set up three shops in Berlin-Friedrichshain: one main store called “EastsideBiker” plus one Bionicon and one Votec conceptstore. In addition to his three sales stores, Oliver Perleberg offers a professional repair service for all bicycle models in his workshop.

In his free time Oliver rides a lot of bike and enjoys trips in Berlin or sometimes a sporty ride to Brandenburg. Since he knows from his own off- road trips what a bike has to have to “survive” such a challenge, Oliver only offers extra high-quality and robust bikes.

Lars passion for bicycles is rooted in his childhood. At the age of seven he experienced his first 3-week bicycle tour through Europe with his family. Today he enjoys bike tours with his friends and family. Furthermore, the sporty charm of bicycle riding was the trigger for Lars to follow the hobby of triathlon. Berlin on Wheels is the perfect possibility for him to connect his bicycle passion with professional ambitions. If he is not busy riding his bike or running through parks in Berlin, he dedicates his time on the duties of prismus and scm
